LifeWorks Professional Corporation was founded by a local psychologist in 1977. The practice, then located at 401 South Green Street in Morganton, was puchased by Grace Hospital in February 1999. In March of 2002, LifeWorks was acquired by the partnership of Jay Bevis, MA, LPA and Martha Britt, PhD, MSW, LCSW. The office was relocated to 123 North Sterling Street until 2005 at which time the practice was moved to 205 East Union Street in Morganton. LifeWorks was incorporated in July 2007 and remains at the East Union Street location today.
